If you wish to use a remote computer's scanner, without getting up from your workstation, BlindScanner Pro can help you. The application gives you the possibility of connecting to remote scanners over a local network and the best part is that it doesn't involve any complex configurations. Simply install this application on both ends and you are ready to go.

BlindScanner Pro is free to try for a limited period of time. It is compatible with all modern Windows platforms and it provides full support for both 32 and 64-bit editions. The setup package contains two modules, a client and a server, which you have to install on both computers, if you wish to successfully scan something from a distance. You may also need a third party scanning utility, but one is included in the same installation package, if you don't have one.

The server module is the one you need to install on the computer which has a scanner attached. Installing and running the module is sufficient to grant other computers access to your scanner. It has a compact user interface, which presents a list of found scanners and a few options, for switching the module between Service and Application modes.

Once you install the client module, you will be able to scan remotely using any application with scanning support or with BlindScanner Pro's own scanner. All you have to do is provide an IP address and a port for the computer with the server module and decide how you wish to scan.
